Security working group
Following the Council of the CC for TLD RU’s resolution, a Security working group was created on April 2, 2009.
The group’s core responsibilities include the following:
- develop rules and regulations to make the entire domain name registration process more secure as well as improve security of the certain steps in that process;
- access proposed technical and management solutions, its practical applications, current domain name registration system and its elements, as well as Internet services implemented in the process, to make sure they correspond to current security rules and regulations;
- take part in certifying the software that is used in registration process, as well as in DNS zones support;
- collaborate with law enforcement agencies for added security during the domain name registration process, as well as to protect the systems and Internet services that are essential for this process;
- take part in developing, discussing and implementing national and international standards that are essential for Internet community security;
- arrange tests to check DNS stability with further analysis and develop methods to add security to core DNS systems.
