On 16 November 2009 at 3AM Moscow time the Coordination Center for TLD RU has submitted to the ICANN the documents for registration of the new Cyrillic alphabet domain .ÐÔ. Thus, Russia has become one of the first countries to submit such a request: for the first time in the Internet’s history, a country has applied for a domain with a full-fledged use of the Cyrillic alphabet – domain .ÐÔ. Now that the application has been submitted one should wait for the completion of the ICANN’s verification procedures and the official delegation of domain .ÐÔ. >>>
On 9 November 2009 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev received Igor Schegolev, the RF Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications. Mr. Schegolev briefed the President on the progress with introduction of the Cyrillic alphabet domain .ÐÔ.
